former penn state football coach jerry sandusky on the eve of his sentencing for sexual abuse, and abc senior national correspondent jim avila right here to tell us what he's saying. jim? >> good evening, diane. tomorrow is judgment day and a judge is expected to sentence jerry sandusky to life and live out the rest of his days in prison. tonight in a highly unorthodox move he put out a daring statement to the penn state college radio station. on the tape he defiantly accuses his victims of lying and insists that he is an innocent man. >> i'm responding to the worst loss of my life. first i looked at myself. over and over i asked why? why didn't we have a fair opportunity to prepare for trial? why have so many people suffered as a result of false allegations? what's the purpose? maybe it will help others. some vulnerable children who could be abused might not be as a result of all the publicity. that would be nice, but i'm not sure about it. i would cherish the opportunity to become a candle for others as they have been a light for me. they can take away my life. they can make me out a

sandusky will learn his fate tomorrow. the former penn state assistant football coach was convicted in june of 45 counts of sexual abuse to young boys. he faces up to 400 years in prison. but experts expect his sentence to be closer to 30 to 60 years. he'll also probably be able to work a 30-hour week to earn money in prison. >>> new developments in the deadly border shooting last week in arizona. the head of the border patrol agents union say it was agents opening fire on each other. they will not say if the fallen agent was the first to shoot. >>> a brawl broke out between two wedding receptions early sunday morning. this happened inside a hotel in philadelphia. witnesses say it started when two brothers got into a fight. something was thrown and it hit someone else. an uncle of one of the brides suffered a heart attack and later died. several people had to go to the hospital and three people were arrested. >>> a health alert this morning, that we continue to follow. the number of rare meningitis cases linked to a tainted steroid treatment has now risen to 91, spanning nine states and kil
